Well opening morning was awesome, first time ever in the blind hunting for turkeys.. had a pre-determind spot i had pick out set the decoys up and in no time there were gobblin there heads OFF!!! early on had a hen within 3ft of the blind, the jake with her wanted nothin to do with my jake decoys. Called in a Tom, he struted the other sided of the field about 100yds but went back into the woods.
At 1200 i moved to another location where i had one of my camera set up in the woods. Birds started gobblin again, and thought i called in a Tom but his voice drifted off. I started to hear a hen clucking and then a Jake attempting to gobble... he came in fast and headed right into the decoys and i let him have it at 13yds
THATs right first time EVER Turkey hunting and I did it with MY BOW!!!!!!! I thought there was nothin better then whitetail hunting but for me this is WAY more enjoyable!
he was 15lbs and beard was 3 3/4 Not a monster by any means
Now its time for a long beard!!
